About the project
Why this directory exists and where the data comes from.
The Ethical Food Guide brings together, in one place, those working on food that does not depend on raising animals. The underlying question is simple: how to reduce intentionally caused animal suffering, most of which comes through human food, and how technology can help.
The directory lists more than 2,000 companies. Some are still under review and are marked as such.
Being listed is not an endorsement: we do not assess each company, and some are diversified groups that also sell animal products. The "Company type" filter separates specialized from diversified companies.
